Third Annual Christmas Card Workshop
On October 26th, over 50 stampers gathered for our Third Annual Christmas Workshop. The workshop was hosted by me & my peeps, Judy, Marla & Mary. It was a great day and I believe everyone enjoyed their day. Here are some highlights of our group and the cards that were made. I was particularly thrilled that our Laurie was with us most of the day. She is a treasure to us all.

Fall Regional Make & Take
The Gathering Place is a group of Stampin’ UP! demonstrators who periodically gather for events to share ideas, learn new techniques, network and just have a good time. We have product demonstrations, technique tutorials, make & takes and of course, swapping. Our Fall Regional event was held this past Saturday. We had 4 seasons of make & takes; Halloween, Fall, Christmas and Winter. This is the make & take that I chose for the Winter theme. The card design is by Cathy Parlitis and the Tag design is by Kim Coulter (my very own peep). We had a great time and made lots of memories. It was an absolute pleasure to work with the team of Sally Nusbaum (our fearless leader) Cheryl Renth and Kim Coulter to make this event a great success. Oh What Fun!

Happy Boot Day
I received this delightful card as a swap at the Stampin’ UP! Convention from Nancy Alverez, who lives in Florida. Nancy is the up line of my Peep, Susan Fields. I have to tell you that I had heard a lot of (all good) stories about Nancy and expected to meet a real Southern Lady. To my surprise, the first thing I heard when I met her was a New York accent. So instead of meeting the Southern Bell at last, I met a Grand Brooklyn Bell. I cherish the time we spent together in Utah.
I made a few changes to the card, one being the button. I made the button using Simply Pressed Clay tinted with Crumb Cake Reinker. Once it dried completely, I sponged the rim with Early Express and carefully tied a knot using Linen Thread. I found (by accident) that leaving the mold in the freezer a little longer than 10 minutes (almost forgot all about it) works much better with the button molds.
Loved the way this man card turned out. Yahoo!

da Vinci Moments
Leonardo da Venci was a painter, sculptor and architect. This card is my da Vinci moment and as close as I get to artistry. Using Watercolor Paper, the Aqua Painter and Simply Pressed Clay, I practically felt like an artist. At my stamp camp yesterday, we also stamped and painted the inside of the card and then envelope. It was really a fun project and the outcome would make a perfect card for many occassions.
