Happy Boot Day
I received this delightful card as a swap at the Stampin’ UP! Convention from Nancy Alverez, who lives in Florida. Nancy is the up line of my Peep, Susan Fields. I have to tell you that I had heard a lot of (all good) stories about Nancy and expected to meet a real Southern Lady. To my surprise, the first thing I heard when I met her was a New York accent. So instead of meeting the Southern Bell at last, I met a Grand Brooklyn Bell. I cherish the time we spent together in Utah.
I made a few changes to the card, one being the button. I made the button using Simply Pressed Clay tinted with Crumb Cake Reinker. Once it dried completely, I sponged the rim with Early Express and carefully tied a knot using Linen Thread. I found (by accident) that leaving the mold in the freezer a little longer than 10 minutes (almost forgot all about it) works much better with the button molds.
Loved the way this man card turned out. Yahoo!

da Vinci Moments
Leonardo da Venci was a painter, sculptor and architect. This card is my da Vinci moment and as close as I get to artistry. Using Watercolor Paper, the Aqua Painter and Simply Pressed Clay, I practically felt like an artist. At my stamp camp yesterday, we also stamped and painted the inside of the card and then envelope. It was really a fun project and the outcome would make a perfect card for many occassions.

Susan’s Convention Swap
My peep Susan Field was kind enough to give my one of her Convention Swaps. The flower embellishment really caught my eye. Was is a brad? Was it a button? No to both. It was a rose made from Stampin' Up's Simply Pressed Clay.
I spent last weekend in Dittmer, MO with some of my peeps so I was able to play with this product. Let me tell you that it was so easy. I added drops ( a few at a time) of Summer Starfruit reinker to a small amount of clay and kneeded it until it was blended. Then a placed a small amount of clay into the mold and placed it in the freezer for 10 minutes. It popped right out of the mold without losing any shape. I then adhered the Basic Pearl to the center and let it air dry overnight.
I can't wait to play with it again. I have another card in mind for clay button. It should be ready just in time for my September Stamp Camp.
