Manning UP!

At the Stampin’ UP! Convention last month, I had the priviledge of meeting the very tall Brian King, a Stampin’ UP! Demonstrator from Atlanta, GA.  Brian told me not to be afraid of using color in a masculine card.  They don’t always have to be brown.  He recently published this card on his blog and his message came through clearly.   The SoHo Designer Series Paper  is primarily what I would consider to be a masculine line but it has the color too.  A perfect way to get color into those man cards an my customers loved it!!!  Thanks to Brian for his inspiration and insight.

Happy Birthday Kim

This is a Carolyn King design that I changed using Crisp Cantaloupe instead of Wisteria Wonder.  Both make beautiful cards.  I chose this to send to my Peep Kim Coulter for her birthday.

The image is stamped with VersaMark with white embossing powder applied.  I used my brand spanking new Stampin’ UP! Heat Tool (which I got for free).  All I can say is WOW!!!  It is awesome for embossing.  I wish I hadn’t waited so long to get one.

Happy Birthday Kim!  Hope you have many more!!

Susan’s Convention Swap

My peep Susan Field was kind enough to give my one of her Convention Swaps.  The flower embellishment really caught my eye.  Was is a brad?  Was it a button?  No to both.  It was a rose made from Stampin' Up's Simply Pressed Clay.

I spent last weekend in Dittmer, MO with some of my peeps so I was able to play with this product.  Let me tell you that it was so easy.  I added drops ( a few at a time) of Summer Starfruit reinker to a small amount of clay and kneeded it until it was blended.  Then a placed a small amount of clay into the mold and placed it in the freezer for 10 minutes.  It popped right out of the mold without losing any shape.  I then adhered the Basic Pearl to the center and let it air dry overnight.

I can't wait to play with it again.  I have another card in mind for clay button.  It should be ready just in time for my September Stamp Camp.

Lovely as A Tree

The Lovely as a Tree Stamp Set is the flagship stamp set of Stampin' UP! (that's my opinion).  Although I have used it many times, this is the first time I have used it in a stamp camp.  It makes a great masculine card.  Another inspiration by Sandy Mathis.  What would I do without her.

Fabulously Amazed

What makes this card so cute is the inside greeting from the Create a Cupcake set coordinates with the front sentiment from Fabulous Phrase collection.  Sometimes I amaze myself.

Soho For You

This card was designed by the very, very cool Brian King.  I finally got a chance to meet him in Salt Lake City.  He was such a nice person and so gracious.  Don’t you just love this card?  The only thing I changed was the stamp set.  I put the sanding block out for my customers to shabby up the Core'dinations a bit.
