Laurie’s Card

I recently attended the Stampin’ UP! Convention in Salt Lake City.  On Wednesday evening I participated in setting a World Record for the Most Greeting Cards Sent Simultaneously from a Single Location.  I made a card, had it addressed with the required postage and took it with me unsealed to Salt Lake City.  There was a representative from the Guiness Book of World Records examining all 2,984 cards to make sure they met the required criteria.  I stood in line for 2 hours to make my mark on the world.  It was like being at Target at 5:00am the day after Thanksgiving.

I guess you are wondering why in the world I would stand in line for 2 hours for anything.   Well the reason why I stood in line is because my card was going to my special friend, Laurie.  I wanted to make sure she knew that I was thinking about her from the land of stamping.

I also got a chance to meet peep, Susan Field’s hometown South Florida demo group.   I’ve been hearing about them for several years and I had the opportunity to put faces to those names.  What a great group of ladies!  It was such a pleasure hanging out with them in that 2-hour line.   We had planned a Dinner & a Swap with the St. Louis and South Florida demo groups.  I used this same card for the swap.

As my final bang for the buck, I will feature this card at my August Stamp Camp.  Since I have already sent this as a Sneak Peek, I’m not spoiling any surprises.

Daisies at Sunset

Another quick post until I get caught up.  Melissa Banbury used a brayer to create her card.  Since I only have one brayer, I thought I would try sponging the colors.  I believe it turned out nicely and my customers voted it as their favorite from my July Stamp Camp.    I am really wondering how I have survived all these years of cardmaking without the Oval Framelit dies.  Love em!

Granny Mac’s Gingham Garden

My grandma, who was affectionately known as Granny Mac, had a Melon Mambo gingham apron.  And I remember a table cloth similar to the floral pattern.  The whole Gingham Garden collection reminds me of her.  She was one sweet lady and I know if she was with us today, I would be sending her this card.

Wildflower Meadow

This is a beautiful monochromatic card that features the Wildflower Meadow stamp with the coordinating embossing folder.  Two other embossing folders were used to add depth and dimension.  It tied for first as favorite card at my June Stamp Camp.

This & That Birthday

The subtle elements in this card really catch the eye.  Mary Fish did a fabulous job with the design.  I  used brads on my initial design as I waited with anticipation of the new Candy Dots  from the 2013-2014 Annual Catalog.  They immediately became my favorite-got-to-have-them-in-every-color products.
