Cherries on Top

I made this card a while back for Kathy Boxdorfer’s birthday.  I used Real Red cardstock and ribbon.  I tucked away the design to use for a later stamp camp.  When I pulled it out again for my June camp, it dawned on me that I should be using Cherry Cobbler for cherries.  So with a slight modification, here is the outcome.

I saw this card on the Stamping Connection under Penny Thomas’s “Likes.”  Yes, I have a tendency to stalk everyone.  The concept that drew me to this card was the use of the Scallop Trim Border and Corner Punch.  Lisa Foster gave Penny the dimensions for the design which I will also share with you.

Tip:  It is essential that you use the Scallop Trim Border punch upside down to make sure your pattern is even.  I went through quite a bit of scrap paper before I figured this out.

Dimensions of the square for the scalloped edge & corner piece:
Early Espresso cut 3 5/16 (Square) Punch corners first:)
Cherry Cobbler layer is 2 11/16
Very Vanilla is 2 5/16

Stamps: Cherish Friendships, A Word for You (inside)

Papers: Very Vanilla Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Regal DSP pack.

Inks: Stazon Blk, Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke, Early Espresso,

Accessories: Blender Pen, Scallop Trim Corner and Border punches, Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding, Antique Brads, Stampin' Dimensionals, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Mat Pack, Paper Piercing Tool, sponges.

Get Well Wishes

Seems like I never have a get well card handy when I need one.  Glad that doesn’t happen often.  But I was thinking it might be a good idea to have some handy.  So along with have a few in my stash, we will also be making this card today at my stamp camp.

These cheerful colors will surely brighten someone’s day.

Frieeeeeeeeends?

Don’t tell my grandson David that you saw his picture on my blog.  He’ll shoot me.  But I had to post it because 1) he’s adorable, 2) he’s my BFF and 3) he did a very good job at following the rules.  He made this picture to give to his 1st grade teacher on his last day of school.  I gave him the retired stamp set Crayola Kids and gave him his rule.  He could use as many colors as he wanted however he could only use a color one at a time.  He must close the stamp pad and clean the stamp each time he changed colors.  He did a great job a following the rules and for a 6 year old, I think he did a fine job

When I went to Grandparents day at school, when his teacher addressed the class, she would say, “Frieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeends?”  And all of the students would respond in unison by saying, “Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees.”  Too cute.  So this picture is of him and his teacher and he is saying, “Frieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeends?”

Grandkids……They are fabulous.  I am so Blessed!!!!!

Pearly White

I have seen this card everywhere.  Pinterest, Facebook, Stampin’ Connection, Blogs.  The origin is from the very talented Lee Conrey.  It is a beautiful card with a soft and stunning presence.  It's suitable for many occasstions and SO VERY EASY to make.  I did not stamp the front of this card as I didn’t want to take anything away from the charisma.  My customer’s had a choice of sentiments they could use for the inside.

And wouldn’t you know it!  The Lace Ribbon Border Punch is retiring at the end of this month.  The palm of my hand just went to my forehead.
