S’UP?

How cute is this card!  I'm not the biggest punch art fan but this guy really caught my eye.  We made this for card for Laurie's Line UP! and at a recent stamp camp.

I’m All About That Face

This is the card that inspired the August calendar for the 2015 Calendar Project.   When I saw that face in the Ray of Sunshine stamp set, I knew I had to have it.  When I saw Justin Krieger's card made with this stamp set, I had to make it.   I used the Scallop Circle Punch to create the Sun:

  • Punch out the shape first with the Scallop Circle Punch
  • Attach a strip of light-weight paper to it (I call the fish line technique). Use the strip of paper as a guide to hold and reposition your shape
  • Insert the scallop back into the punch
  • Offset the design half way between the scallops and re-punch

World Traveler

A quick post today to show this really cool masculine card.  The Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper was sponged to feature land and water.  It was a very easy card to put together.  The picture doesn’t really do it justice.

Bee Happy

The lovely and talented Kim Coulter used this adorable bee on front of our menu folder at a demonstrator event we had this past January.  I showed the menu (plus all the other charming things Kim made for this event) to my customers and they asked to make The Bee.  It was something I had in my mind all year but I just hadn’t really got around to it.  When the new 2014-2015 Annual Catalog was released, I saw a stamp from the Sweet Stuff stamp set that just called out for The Bee.  Here’s what I camp up with:

Feathers but no Birds

I have been inspired by some of the cards I have seen that use die cuts from Stampin’s UP’s  e-cutter files.  So I purchased an electronic cutting tool and merged the feather from My Digital Studio’s (MDS), Feathered Woodcuts Kit.  This digital image was originally a now retired stamp set.  In the digital environment it can also be used to make a die cut.  The SVG image of the feather was merged into the ecutter's design software.  I then used the trace tool to outline the image that created the cut line.    Next I  filled the page so that I could cut a bunch of them.   I hit the cut button and that was it; they were done.  Then I got cut happy.

Here’s how I used the die cuts:
