I’m All About That Face

This is the card that inspired the August calendar for the 2015 Calendar Project.   When I saw that face in the Ray of Sunshine stamp set, I knew I had to have it.  When I saw Justin Krieger's card made with this stamp set, I had to make it.   I used the Scallop Circle Punch to create the Sun:

  • Punch out the shape first with the Scallop Circle Punch
  • Attach a strip of light-weight paper to it (I call the fish line technique). Use the strip of paper as a guide to hold and reposition your shape
  • Insert the scallop back into the punch
  • Offset the design half way between the scallops and re-punch

Granny Mac’s Tea Towels

When I saw this card in the 2014-2015 Annual Catalog (page 170) it reminded me of the tea towels my Grandma would hang in her bathroom when she was expecting special company.  It was her Sunday School class luncheons that I recall the most.  She got out her special luncheon table clothes and napkins.  She usually served tuna stuffed tomatoes and cucumber salad made using fresh vegetables from my Grandpa's garden.  Dessert was peach cobbler made dirtying only one bowl.  She never measured any ingredients and always had a perfect crust.

On with the card…..I replaced the stitching with paper piercing to make it just a little easier on my customers and used a different framelit.  I used Old Olive cut from the Bitty Banner punch.  I used Naturals White cardstock instead of Crumb Cake.  The Blendabilities worked great by the way.  And I used Basic Black for my card base as I always like my layers.

Now I have to have some tuna salad. Mmm!

Hello Again

This card features two first of firsts.  The first of first features Stampin’ UP’s Blendabilities, the alcohol ink markers made for blending and shading.  The second first of first is a die cut sentiment made from My Digital Studio’s  Moments Ago Stamp Brush Set and my e-cutter.  Both are easy to use and make a beautiful card.

When I see this card I want to burst out in song to Neil Diamond’s, “Hello Again”.
