Winter Memories

The sled in the stamp set brings back so many childhood memories.  I grew up in Ferguson, MO. Around the corner from my house was a street that had a steep hill known as “Tiffin Hill”.  Only an experienced stick-shift driver would attempt this hill as it had a stop sign at the top.  At the same time, it was a very good hill to learn how to drive a stick-shift. I rolled backwards down that hill many times before I could make it past the stop sign.   I digress.  This hill was so steep that during the winter, no one dared to attempt driving up the hill when it was covered with snow and ice.  So naturally, when we had snow, Tiffin Hill became a hill for sleigh riding.  We had a sled that looked very similar to this sled.  It was worn and ragged but once you waxed the blades, it flew down Tiffin Hill.  Lots of great memories make this card very special.

I took this card as a shoebox swap in September and saved it to use again for my October Stamp Camp.  This was my first experience with the Core’dinations Card Stock.  It is so cool.  I love the worn look when used with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder and Stampin’ Sanding Block.

Oh and by the way.  The Cardinals in this stamp set were the first thing I saw which makes it extra special.  At this post, we’re in a rain delay winning 3-1 in game 3 of the NLCS against the San Francisco Giants.   Love them Cardinals!!!!
