Welcome to the Family

Over the next few weeks I will be publishing the pages from a scrapbook my cousin Tammy and I made for the newest member of our family, Mrs. Jenna Graves.  My nephew Chad and Jenna were married yesterday in Isla Mujeres, Mexico.  Chad and Jenna live in Oklahoma City and their work schedules kept them from coming to St. Louis for a wedding shower.  Tammy suggested that we make a scrapbook of all the girls in our family so that Jenna could meet us.  Each girl sent us a photo and wrote their own journaling.  We tucked gift cards here & there.  We had a blast doing this and hope that Jenna will feel loved and welcomed into our family.

We used the Island Oasis Designer Paper from Stampin’ UP! along with a palate of Tempting Turquoise, Rose Red, Old Olive and So Safron cardstock, ribbon and brads.  You’ll see a few other colors here and there.  Each scrapbook page is 8 x 8.  We made all of the embellishments from Sizzix dies and Stampin’ UP! punches.

I used the My Design Studio software from Stampin’ UP! to create a few digital pages and some of the journaling.  I am really pleased at how this software makes it a breeze at getting multiple photographs on a page.  It’s practically a no-brainer.  And using the stamps and punches as icons added a special touch to the journaling.

By this time Jenna will have received this book and I can now publish the pages without ruining the surprise.  If you have any specific questions on any of the pages, please ask and I will be happy to share.  At the same time, let me introduce you to my wonderful family.

Tammy Miller

This is Tammy who was my creative partner in making this scrapbook.  She is my first cousin.  Here mom and my mom were sisters.  We get together often and make little gifts for the girls in our family.  It's so much fun and you should see the mess we make.  Tools, paper, trimmers, adhesives, ribbons, punches galore.  It appears to be a disaster.  We really have to watch the clock too because before you know it, it will be 1:00AM.
