Granny Mac’s Gingham Garden
My grandma, who was affectionately known as Granny Mac, had a Melon Mambo gingham apron. And I remember a table cloth similar to the floral pattern. The whole Gingham Garden collection reminds me of her. She was one sweet lady and I know if she was with us today, I would be sending her this card.

This is a beautiful monochromatic card that features the Wildflower Meadow stamp with the coordinating embossing folder. Two other embossing folders were used to add depth and dimension. It tied for first as favorite card at my June Stamp Camp.

Holiday Romance
I have always been terrified of watercoloring with an Aqua Painter. I don’t know why because it’s so easy. And how exquisite with the right stamp set and color palate. This is not just a Christmas card. I plan on using it as a birthday card.

Hybrid Cardmaking
Purchasing Stampin’ UP!’s MDS-2 digital has been one of my round-to-its. Last week, I surfed across a U-Tube tutorial by Sage Kimble showing in detail, how to color a stamp using multiple colors. Don’t ask me how I got there, I just did. It gave me the perfect reason to get around to it. I purchased the MDS-2 upgrade, downloaded it, installed it and then open up the software. After that, Sage’s instructions walked me step by step on how to color the digital stamp. Once colored, I exported the file as a jpeg and it was ready to print. All this with going through only a half a bag of chocolate.
The Tweet Leaves image is the only digital image on this card. My customer’s at Saturday’s stamp camp were ever so happy that they didn’t to color the image with markers.
The MDS-2 software is now half price which makes it a fantastic bargain with endless possibilities.

Tufted Puffs
This technique is called a Tuffted Puffs Background. When I saw the design by Gail Sachtleben on the Connection, I wanted to give it try. So I took my ruler, pencil and graft paper and made a primitive template. This took care of any guess work. Place a 3¾” square on the template with a little Dotto. Align a piece of scrap on the first guideline to create a mask. Sponge all the way across with strokes away from the mask. Slide the mask down to the next row and repeat. Once one side is done, rotate the square and repeat. I worked on this at a recent demonstrator retreat hosted by my upline, Pam D'urso and gave a copy of the template to all the demonstrators. And of course, I gave a copy to my customers, too. I hope everyone enjoyed making this card as much as I did. Want a copy of this primitive template? Click Here

My Burlap Bag
A long time ago, I heard a story about putting all your worries in a burlap bag and leaving them. When I saw this card, I thought of that story. Stamping is my burlap bag. When I stamp, all my worries seem to disappear putting my mind at peace and surely lowering my blood pressure. Great therapy–I highly recommend it.
