Man Card

I forgot to take a vote yesterday at Stamp Camp for the favorite card.  It would be hard to choose.  This card had everyone oohing & ahing and talking, “Man Card”so I would venture to say that it was a favorite.  The lush colors of the Morning Mocha DSP give this card a stunning presence.

I went to a 50th birthday party last night and tucked a Macy’s gift card inside for the distinguished guest of honor.   All went into a Crumb Cake Medium Envelope.

You know me, I have to milk it for all it’s worth.

A Wise Owl for a Wise Young Man

My oldest grandson recently turned 9 years old.  Seems like he was just born last week.  We had the traditional family birthday dinner on Easter Sunday.  There was a BIG Easter Egg Hunt in my daughter’s back yard and the kids dyed Easter Eggs too.  As I didn’t want the Easter day activities to out shadow his birthday, I made this card that really fits him.  He loves to read and he is extremely smart.

When I am making a punch art figure, I squeeze a few drops of Tombow on waxed paper and use a tooth pick to spread glue on the teeny tiny parts.  That’s my tip for the day.

Stamp Set:  Happiest Birthday Wishes
Paper: Just Add Cake Designer Series Paper, Wild Wasabi , Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black
Tools & Accessories:   Owl Builder Punch, Photo Corner Punch (retired),
Regals Designer Buttons, Vintage Black Button (from my Grandma’s button box), White Baker’s Twine, Tombow, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots & adhesive

Here’s an adorable card for your stash.  Make a stack and have handy for your next baby shower.  This can be nicely adapted for a baby boy just by swapping ink and ribbon as one of my customers did using Baja Breeze Pleated Satin Ribbon with Marina Mist cardstock and ink,

Just for You

I used this card with a different color palate (Calypso Coral & Basis Black) for my swap at a recent demonstrator event. Since I used all of my Calypso Coral brads for the swap, I  changed the color palate for my stamp camp.  I love the way the Modern Label Punch fits so nicely with the Blossum Punch.  Another reason why Stampin’ UP! is the greatest at coordinating products.

Inlaid Framelits

I’m calling the technique used in this card an Inlaid Framelit.  On a rare occasion believe it or not, I do come up with a concept on my own.  Of course it came about accidently but hey, it did come about no less.    And it’s not to say that someone else has not already used this same concept but I can honestly say that I didn’t copy it.  Sooo…I am patting myself on the back.

I first cut out the center with Whisper White.  Then with the same label framelit, I cut out the mat with Calypso Coral.  This cuts out the center of the label to accomodate the Whisper White label.  Next I used the framelit one size larger and centered it over the previous cut.  This embossed and cut outside of the mat.
