Antiques from the Attic

This darling card was another favorite of my customers.  We liked the vintage look that featured Stampin’ UP’s antique brads and the butterfly cut from the new Blossom Punch.

Pears with Pizzazz

Pears with Pizzazz

The paisley pattern from the Spice Cake DSP series was not one of my favorites but the more I look at, the more I’m loving it.   The subtle layers mellow the paisley which enhances the card without overshadowing the focal point.   We made this card at my Stamp Camp yesterday.

Summer Mini Swap

summer-mini-swap

With the launch of Stampin’ UP’s Summer Mini Catalog, I participated in a demonstrator swap. I made 10 identical cards and sent them to our hostess, Karen Povis Graf. She sorted them, and I received 9 different cards back.  This is a great way to get ideas and inspiration from some very talented demonstrators.   I received some fabulous swaps. You can see all of the swaps on Karen’s blog with her posts starting on May 1st.

The purpose of the swap was to feature products from the Summer Mini Catalog.   I received them just in time to display at theT.A.L.K of the Town Shopping Expo.   It’s always great to have lots of samples with current products to display to potential customers.
I used Tangerine Tango cardstock as my card base and ran it through the Big Shot using the Flower Garden Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  The Beyond the Garden DSP was mounted onto Whisper White cardstock.   This was wrapped with Daffodil Delight 1/8” taffeta ribbon.
The greeting is from the Pretty Postage stamp set. It was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with Tangerine Tango embossing powder.  I punched this out with the Scallop Square punch. The mat for this was cut from the Scallop Squares Duo BIGZ Die with the Big Shot.
This is a bright and cheerful card perfect for a summer greeting of any kind.  It was very easy to put together and make in production.   I get excited any time I get to emboss whether it’s dry embossing with a folder or heat embossing with embossing powder. Doing both on the same project is just too cool.
By the way….The next T.A.L.K. of the Town Shopping Expo is August 6th and 7th.  Hope to see you there!

My Friend

My Friend

This card is a somewhat monochromatic but with the various mediums and tools used, it doesn't look monochromatic.  It's made using the new Daffodil Delight color in the Brights Collection by Stampin' UP!

The new 3mm Basic Pearl mounted onto a the flower punched with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack took this card to the next level of elegance. The Basic Pearl jewels are self adhesive half pearls that come in 2mm, 3mm and 5mm sizes. Look to see them often as I absolutely love them!
Daffodil Delight reminds me of sunshine but doesn't have the heat  we are experiencing this weekend here in St. Louis.  Our temperature today reached 97 degrees with a humidity that made it feel like 107 degrees. On a day like today, it's best just to stay indoors and make a card!

Welcome to my Blog

Today is my first post.  WOW!!!  It's amazing how easy this.  The reason why it's so easy is because of an awesome, and I me awesome, lady from Racine, Wisconsin.  Her name is Michelle Laycock from Laycock Designs.  She is a genius!!  Without her, I wouldn't be here.  Thus said, my first card is for her.  Thank You Michelle!!!!

The base of today's card is Rich Razzleberry with layers of Pale Plum then Cottage Wall DSP.  This color pallet is breath-taking.

Next is a layer of Pale Plum (embossed with Nestabilities) on Rich Razleberry.  To create the layered flower, I used the 5 petal punch with Old Olive and Rich Razzleberry and the Boho Blossum punch with Pale Plum attaching them with an Old Olive brad.  I popped them on with dimensionals.  The sentiment is stamped in Rich Razzleberry is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set.  I used the back side of the Rich Razzleberry ribbon to tie a simple knot.

Finally,  I first stamped a scrap of RIch Razzleberry with Pale Plum using the Flight of the Butterfly Set for a subtle monocromatic effect.  Then I used the new butterfly punch.  To add some character, I wrapped the body with DMC 3012.

Summary

Stamps:  Teeny Tiny Wishes, Flight of the Butterfly
Paper:  Rich Razzleberry, Pale Plum Old Olive, Cottage Wall DSP

Ink:  Rich Razzleberry, Pale Plum
Accessories:  5 Petal Punch, Boho Blossum Punch, Nestabilities, Dimensionals,  Ribbon, Brad, Paper Piercer & Floss

I hope you enjoy making this card.  It's pretty easy when you Stamp n Punch!!!
