Lauries Line-UP!
This past Saturday was our semi-annual event for Laurie’s Line-UP! was held at DeLeo’s Café & Deli in Florissant, MO. This is a time my stamping peeps get together to make cards to donate to worthy causes. The cards we made at this event will be donated to Card Care Connection, a local organization who sends cards to cancer victims to bring them hope and brighten their day.
In this post are highlights from our day and some of the cards we made. Deanna, Joetta, Mary T are not pictured. Susan and Patti were not with us but donated cards.
Thanks to Jake and everyone at DeLeo’s for providing space for us. Lunch was fantastic and those chocolate chip cookies….yummy!!!
Giving back to the community is something near & dear to my heart. I am so blessed with a stamping family who has similar values. The highlight of my day: Laurie was able to be with us.
Thanks also to David, my 8 year old grandson who serves as my accounter. We made 224 cards on Saturday and are expecting some more donations this weekend. Very close to our 250 goal.

Laurie’s Line UP!
Yesterday 7 of my closest peeps gathered at my home for a card making event. Even though we've had several card making events in the past, this event was special for all of us. Normally we have made cards for soldiers sending them to From our Hearts for distribution. On this occasion, we made cards for Card Care Connection. Card Care Connection is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing sympathetic messages and motivational cards to those who face cancer.
Our dear friend Laurie has been battling this disease for several years. Laurie is an avid stamper who not only makes cards for soldiers, she also makes cards for the St. John’s Mercy Cancer Center. She fondly calls them her “cancer cards”. Thus came the decision to name this event in her honor .
Even though she could not be with us yesterday, Laurie’s presence was felt as we made 204 cards (a new record) that will provide uplifting messages to brighten the day of many patients. Here are some photos of our cards, my remarkable peeps & of course just one snapshot of the fabulous food we shared.
A big thanks to Sally Nusbaum who also brought 300 completed cards & card fronts that will go to From our Hearts for the soldiers.
Using our talents to give back is a part of our mission. For those who weren't able to make it, we missed you.
