Masking the Moon

I made this card a while back for a One Layer Card Challenge shoe box swap with my peeps at our Prairie Retreat in Mahomet, IL.  The challenge came from our Upline, Pam D’Urso.  Trust me, one layer was a real challenge for me as I prefer layers and plenty of them.   Susan Field, my peep & fabulous road trip buddy, dressed her’s up a bit with ⅛” Taffeta Ribbon.  When I put this card in my August Stamp Camp, I used it as a layer and added the Taffeta Ribbon.  It was voted as the favorite card of the day.

Don’t forget to use this fabulous stamp (could it be a dandelien) on the inside of your card and envelope.  Adds more WOW!

And of course, I sent this card to my good friend Elaine for her birthday so I had to stall once again on the post.

Whether it’s the moon or the sun, I love masking.

Susan’s Convention Swap

My peep Susan Field was kind enough to give my one of her Convention Swaps.  The flower embellishment really caught my eye.  Was is a brad?  Was it a button?  No to both.  It was a rose made from Stampin' Up's Simply Pressed Clay.

I spent last weekend in Dittmer, MO with some of my peeps so I was able to play with this product.  Let me tell you that it was so easy.  I added drops ( a few at a time) of Summer Starfruit reinker to a small amount of clay and kneeded it until it was blended.  Then a placed a small amount of clay into the mold and placed it in the freezer for 10 minutes.  It popped right out of the mold without losing any shape.  I then adhered the Basic Pearl to the center and let it air dry overnight.

I can't wait to play with it again.  I have another card in mind for clay button.  It should be ready just in time for my September Stamp Camp.
