Sale-a-Bration Pinwheel

My other tied-for-first-place as the favorite card from stamper’s vote last Saturday.  This is such a fun card to make and super easy.  I found the pattern from Gretchen Barron and had to give it a try.  Some of my stampers chose different papers from the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper pallet and they all turned out beautifully.   This layout is a great multi-occassion card suited for any age.  It's a keeper.

Double D Bow Maker

This card tied for first as the favorite at last week’s stamp camp.  It’s very simple but exceedingly elegant.  It could be used for many occassions and I believe my stampers used all of the sentiments in the Perfectly Penned stamp set to make their card their own.

I know what you’re thinking.  What about that bow?  Well it just so happens that I have a new toy.  Love new toys.  I got this bow maker from Glenda Galkin, a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator from Michigan.  Glenda’s sixth grade son Dean, is making these using the skills he learned in wood shop at school.  If you know anything about me, you know that I am an absolute sap when it comes to helping entrepreneurial kids.  Even better when it fills one of my tool junky squares.

If you’re interested, you can purchase the Double-D Bow Maker at Glenda Galkin’s website. There’s a video that tells the whole story. Once you receive your bow maker, you will be provided a link to a detailed video tutorial that shows several ways to use the bow maker.

Another unique concept about this card is the structure.  The base of the card is 5 ½” x 4 ¼”.  This card is made with Basic Black Card Stock.  The Whisper White Card Stock is cut at 10 ½” by 4”, folded & scored in half and mounted to the Basic Black Card Stock.  I received this card for free as a bonus with my bow maker.  What a deal for the Queen of Copy!

Wings in the Air

When I first saw this card on I thought,  "love the card but it really looks complicated".  Not so.  Stampin’ Write Markers and a blender pen made it easy to create this water color effect.  A few squeezes with the Color Spritzer Tool put a vintage spin to it.   The embossed butterflies added elegance.

This was voted second favorite at my February stamp camp.

You’re Just my Type

How often do you need a card just like this?  No specific occasion but something special to send family photos, a recipe, or a special instructions for a payment.    I always like to have these types of cards ready for multipurpose use and today's card is perfect for them.

I learned from Karen, one of my fabulous customers that this stamp works best on a hard surface.  She used my kitchen counter (where we were also using background stamps) to get a much better impression that I got when I made this card.  One thing about being around stampers, you always pick up little tips to improve your skills and techniques.

Tip:  To make the leaf for the flower’s stem, I used a technique taught to me by Deanna Schultz (a very sweet demonstrator friend who makes fabulous cookies I might add).  Punch a circle from a scrap of Old Olive.  I used the 1/2 “ circle punch with this card. Place the circle on the sticky part of a post-it note.  Guide the circle back into the circle punch (upside down) and cut half way through it to create the leaf.  I believe Deanna called this a Fish Line technique.  That’s what I call it anyway.

Make a stack of these and keep them handy.  This stamp set has some very cute phrases that can be used at the last minute many occasions.
