You’re the Best!

The colors in the Best Every Designer Series Paper  are very cheerful.  Even though this paper series will soon retire, the card design is versatile and could be used with several other paper series.

Don’t Cry Over Spilled Coffee

We made this card a while back at my October stamp camp.  I actually sewed the paper with my mom's Singer Golden Touch n Sew sewing machine.  It must be 40 years old at least.  Its performance and my rusty skills were match perfectly to create the shabby chic effect I was going for.  We used the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set to make it look like someone had spilled their coffee on the card.  That was a hoot. Sponging added more shabbiness.  I loved how it turned out for a masculine looking card.  The crinkled twine used was defrayed burlap ribbon.

Granny Mac’s Tea Towels

When I saw this card in the 2014-2015 Annual Catalog (page 170) it reminded me of the tea towels my Grandma would hang in her bathroom when she was expecting special company.  It was her Sunday School class luncheons that I recall the most.  She got out her special luncheon table clothes and napkins.  She usually served tuna stuffed tomatoes and cucumber salad made using fresh vegetables from my Grandpa's garden.  Dessert was peach cobbler made dirtying only one bowl.  She never measured any ingredients and always had a perfect crust.

On with the card…..I replaced the stitching with paper piercing to make it just a little easier on my customers and used a different framelit.  I used Old Olive cut from the Bitty Banner punch.  I used Naturals White cardstock instead of Crumb Cake.  The Blendabilities worked great by the way.  And I used Basic Black for my card base as I always like my layers.

Now I have to have some tuna salad. Mmm!

Thoughts of Spring

I am so ready for spring.  This has been a long, cold winter and I am ready to shed the coats & turn off the heat.  This card is a perfect way to celebrate spring.  The Chevron Punch makes it a breeze to make a lattice border to hold the delicate petite petals.

Christmas Messages

Sometimes you want to send a card during the holidays to let someone know your thinking of them during the time of year.  A Christmas card just doesn't say what you want to say.  This card is perfect to let someone know your thinking of them in a special way.  I sent this card to my dear friend Margaret who recently had surgery.

Christmas Messages

The card could easily be modified to make it a Christmas card or for someone who has a birthday around Christmas.  At my November stamp camp I had a variety of stamps that would change the greeting that could be used for a different purposes.  My customers stayed with the sentiment that I used because the inside sentiment is what makes the card perfect for someone who is in your thoughts this time of year:

One more thing….This was my swap card at our Gathering Place Regional Event back in September.
